Auto makers are being increasingly LESS tolerant of aftermarket ANYTHING on cars that have warranty.

I've heard companies VOIDING warranties where the client just got an oil change at a NON OEM dealer.

Your response should be: The exhaust in no way affects any aspect of engine operation that would jepordize its integrity. The failure is totally unrelated to any "modification".

True, but it doesn't matter.

They would just claim that the fact someone (presumably not an OEM dealer) has worked on their car under the hood, they (the mechanic) could have done anything. Therefore, they (Lamborghini) cannot be held liable if and when something goes wrong.

I find it more concerning that they're willing to give you the 'SOL', especially in light that they're going to produce a vehicle for the masses and therefore should be stepping up their customer service.

If the incident occurred in the US I would imagine our laws regarding automobile warranties would apply.

Yikes, that is horrible news. Is there any way to have this checked before it goes boom?

Kind of ironic as I have always thought the Gallardo engine to be bulletproof, especially with all the twin turbo conversions in the States.

I hope you are able to fix your car without taking out such a big chunk of cash.
