Wow, a huge accident could have been caused at 1:52. Huge respect for the cars, but take it to the track.

There are no tracks in Russia. A lot of people drive 1000 miles to Finland, but to these people, public high way IS their track.

What I gathered, and have done before myself in a turbo car, is just before he started the race he was applying not only the normal 50km/h amount of accelerator but also the brake. Once the brake was applied the countdown began and that's when he further applied the accelerator at the same time, building the revs and thus spooling the turbos earlier in preparation for the launch to get a better shot at winning... Obviously doing this one too many times caused the driveline to go bang!
