Will the Aventador COMPLETELY replace the murci??
This is a write-up I've been wanting to do for some time. I recently went to Monterey, CA to see the new Lamborghini Aventador. I've seen the pictures, watched the videos and read the reviews but I was still not convinced this car could completely replace the Murcielago as my favorite car.
The first Aventador I saw was matte black and it was breathtaking to say the least. A white Aventador sat close by and allowed me to see every detail of this insane monster. In between these two cars though was something special, an orange LP640, that just made me realize that although it may look less radical it still grabbed my attention more than the "replacements".
Thats STRIKE 1 Aventador. I did however see some details on the Aventador I really did like. The first HUGE detail I saw that I had never noticed before was the size of the air intakes on the side of the car. These vents were massive and I couldn't believe I had never noticed them in the pictures or video. Later on in the day I got to hear the car run and give a few hard revs. That was when I got to hear how much quieter the Aventador is. Jay Leno was standing beside me and I think he explained the sound best when he said it was like the car had turbos. It sounded similar to a Nissan GTR in my opinion.
Thats STRIKE 2. I left the show and went downtown. I was walking over a bridge that led to a tunnel when I heard an intense engine note that was very unique but followed by something similar close behind. The matte black Aventador flew under the bridge with a verde ithaca Murcielago right at its side. The noise from the Murcielago completely drowned out its younger brother's engine note when they entered the tunnel.
STRIKE 3, I'm sorry Aventador but your out! This trip made me realize that although the new model is an awesome car and I would love to see it on the road any day it just doesn't have the presence that the Murcielago has. The Murcielago looks and sounds better in every way. This is all my opinion though and I would like to hear what you think. Thanks for reading!

When you put them side by side the Murcielago looks very dated compared to the Aventador, but it's the same with Gallardo next to LP560.
On their own they still steal the show imo. LP640/670 sounds way better than the Aventador though.

I think every new lambo is different from its predecessor. I don't think its fair enough to compare two different generations. When murcielago was out, people claimed that they prefer diablo. Murcielago was scary car, Aventador is, according to reviews, easier to drive. Aventador is built to appeal people who would otherwise go for a Ferrari or Porsche. If you ask my opinion, I'll buy every generation and even F and P cars.
