Has Lambo Hit The Power Limit? Switches R&D From Power To Weight
#12
As sad as it is we all have to accept that all cars and supercars will have to reduce emissions or they will be lost to the history books. As for the decision to strip weight, that sounds perfectly fine to me.

Remember when everyone thought AMG was crazy to add twin-turbo's to their 6.0L (stroked to 6.5L) V-12?

Yea I don't think this has anything to do with not having anymore answers but adjusting to the times. Look how hard it is for most companies to send their cars to the US already and its only getting harder more and more places.

the real reason paddles are so popular is because you got lazy people and dbags that dont know how to drive and just want an expensive name plate on the car to show off. Or guys that are whipped and can justify the car to their wives as they can drive it too.....to make all their friends jealous. Lighting fast shifting in bumper to bumper traffic of crusing on the highway is not important, or for the the tools rolling up to the hot club or local coffe shop to show off. They cant drive and are too embarrassed to stall it all day.

Blame buyers demand for lack of manual gearbox on most of future supercars. Buyers want and makers supply, that is all. Sad, but fact, there is nothing to do with it.
Lambo wants to reduce weight and to improve acceleration, well hope they will do it right and next generation of Lambos will be amazing supercars to drive and to enjoy. It does not mean that future Lambos will be downgraded in terms of hp amount of topdpeed, just look at Jota rumors, it will be good for no less than 690 hp and 350 km/h topspeed. This means only one thing hp increase will not go such fast pace as it was earlier, pure hp amount is not a key to the win, power-to-weight ration is the king in supercars world now.
Just imagine how perfect it sounds and hope it will be exactly so in official press release - Murcielago successor with weight lower than current LP670-4 SV, 690-700 hp and 360 km/h topspeed. I would not dare to call that wrong way.
