2012 Ferrari California gets more power and loses weight

According to dealer updates provided to prospective owners, the new 2012 California will be more powerful, lighter, and feature a host of new technology. The 4.3-litre direct-injection V8 power-plant gets an extra 30 horsepower, now clocking in at 483bhp with 373lb ft of torque.

The revised California sheds 30kg thanks to new lighter aluminum alloys in certain parts of the chassis. The new magnerheological dampers are also upgraded and the ECU has a 50% faster response rate. The new California will begin production in January 2012. An optional Handling Special package is now available as well.

We just got word from the best source we could on this, this is for Europe only, not the US markets. US already had a price increase last year. Remember, Europe also got the scheduled maintenance years before us as well.

What power bump all they did is revise the ecu map and give it the same power as the F430's (same engine).

 

That exhaust set up reminds me too much of an ISF.

Still looks good though!
