I had it happen... they got into my paypal account and then used that to get back into my ebay account (which is linked) and then listed about 100 fur coats on ebay and bought about 15 coats and had them shipped to russia.

That was a fun christmas trying to get all that put back together.

Well my question is answered... just a scam auction... i thought it was for real at first and couldn't believe the guy was unaware the thing was boosted.

I have a good friend of mine that lives in Europe, when the scams first started hitting ebay his neighbor was one of the first to do so. They listed and sold 1.75 million dollars worth of vehicles, clothing etc and eventually got caught. Ebay has tried to stop it as much as possible but it still happens. I had a gentleman send me a cashiers check for more than the original sale price of the vehicle, a common scam, then had a guy try and come pick up the car. He demanded that I give him the difference.

This vehicle has a salvage title, odometer discrepancies, and also was classified as a total loss in 2006. The carfax is littered w/ red marks.

It had a wreck in 3/2006 in Miami. Was disabled, towed, repaired. Someone bought it, and 6/2006 was classified as a total loss. All titles since then have been NAM titles (not actual mileage).

Happens all the time. Easier than that. All they do is send out an email that looks like eBay and ask you to sign in to your account. You sign in, thereby giving your password consensually. I get emails like that all the time.

Yeah, I get these too, sometimes for my auctions, and sometimes completely random ones. BE CAREFUL! All messages that go thru 'eBay' should be verified by going straight eBay.com, and not thru any link.
