Article from GTspirit

Having got into the ultra-exclusive market with the Reventon, it’s being reported that Lamborghini will attempt to compete against the upcoming Ferrari F70. The news stems from reports about Lamborghini’s development of a new, range topping supercar, perhaps to be named the Urus.
The car will share much of the same underpinnings as the Murcielago replacement (rumoured to be called the Jota) but will benefit from modifications in the form of carbon fibre parts. It will feature a complete carbon fibre body and active aerodynamics to help give it a cutting edge over the competition.
The car will probably be released a little while after the Murcielago replacement which is expected sometime next year. It’ll also be the most powerful Lamborghini to date with a rumoured 800bhp on the cards.

All those articles are copying one another, nothing new at this moment, only rumors, it is very safe to speak about the cars about to due in after years, I am trying to split up rumors from trusworthy sources and wishful thinking, but you can never be sure.
One thing for sure is Murcielago replacement - rumored to be presented late 2010 or Geneva auto show 2011 and will go into production in 2011, its a safer bet because Lamborghini always presented all V12 flagship cars at Geneva only.
Urus can be launched in 2011 at Frankfurt auto show with going into production in 2012. But nothing is sure about Urus, some sources stated that this model will be launched, but you can never be sure. Some sources leaked information well before this appeared int the press, I have posted this information here some time ago, then the automotive sources, this lets some hope that it could be really so.
For example, I have heard yesterday that Lamborghini could launch GT version of Murcielago with RWD to fill the gap between the end of SV, LP650-4 Roadster, Reventon Roadster production this spring and start of the Jota/Urus production early 2011. I do not want to share more as for now, while I absolutely not sure this information is really credible.

As I have said I really hope these rumors are not true and Lamborghini will let Murcielago to retire finally, but there are some rumors appeared that Lamborghini will fill the gap between the end of the SV, LP650-4 Roadster, Reventon Roadster production and the Jota launch with one more special line, rumored to be GT RWD version of Murcielago. With all that said I can not rate if the source is credible or not, but I just hope it is not true, just as Winkelmann told EVO magazine in his interview. I want to see absolutely new V12 Lamborghini flagship with CF chassis and all other modern goodies.

Lamborghini has their work cut out for them. The Murcielago/Reventon is a far cry from being a staple in technology and chassis design, so this new car would need to be a tremendous leap for them in order to compete with even older super Ferraris.
It should be interesting to see if Lamborghini can finally enter the realm of sophisticated super cars.
