Here's a little feedback for anyone in a Porsche thinking about getting a Gallardo (I know there are a lot of you out there now that 04-05 G's can be had around 100k)
I've been on a few drives now and it's quickly becoming and addiction. I love the power and the sound and the overall driving experience. My favorite part is starting up the car, my least favorite is having to turn it off. The G is so much louder and meaner it makes the 997 seem quiet. The seating position is extremely low compared to the 997. I feel like a 4' old asian lady trying to see over the steering wheel of an '88 Camry. I'm getting used to it...
Going from a 6 speed manual on the 997 to an egear I was worried that I would feel like a passenger not the driver. There's something about shifting on the egear (and the F1 on a 430) that keeps you entirely engaged with the car. The fast shift, the sound, and the jerk you feel is completely different from my old 986 Boxster (tiptronic). The downshift blip-- my god, it's priceless. When the traffic light turns yellow, I secretly get excited about downshifting. If you haven't heard it, check it out on youtube, it still doesn't do it any justice.
Anyway, I'm gushing like a high school girl after prom but I need to share it with someone, honestly I'm afraid to show some of my friends-- most of them don't even know I got the car. lol
