I'm not a G owner, but I have been follwoing the market and researching 04, 05 and 06 G's for about a year now, and from the research I've done, it seems the G cars are very reliable. Yes, the 04 had weak clutch issues, but the was resolved from 05 on, and most every 04 has had this issue taken care of by now. For the most part, an oil change every 5000 miles and clutch every 7000 or so is all that is required. Of course, there are some cars that have some other issues, but that is no different than any other car in existence today, including Lexus or Toyotas. If you can afford to buy a $100K car in th first place, then standard maintenance costs should not be much of a concern on this car.

I doubt it's that high. But there are some people who prefer understated performance over "look at me styling"

it's all personal preference.

btw if you look at my original post, you will see I decided upon both "look at me" styling and "holy shit i'm going to die" performance

Back to the original questioning ...
a Gallardo sure is fun, but I'd go for a Vanquish instead. Yes it's most likely more of a headache but it looks amazing.
Ferrari 575, have they hit 100k yet?
Zorro FTMFW!

Mine has been one big headache after the next, but I would rather BBQ my own kidneys and lung before getting rid of it. I mean just look at it, just listen to it, whats there not to like? (Exept the tin foil Gearbox)
The very last old-school Aston!

Jeez: invasion of the small dicks taking over ATL's thread.

I vote for the G. Both the 997 Turbo and Gallardo are very fast cars. As you mentioned, it's going to come down to visceral experience the car gives you. In my opinion, the Gallardo's sound and aesthetics give it the nudge.

For $100K I would find a clean GT3 and touch it up... wheels, Sharky club kit, etc.. It'll look great, be reliable, clean/newish condition, etc...
Also might hold value better. And I wouldn't hesitate to DD it.

I think if I were looking at a G, I'd get 06 for sure. If you want to spend $100K and want a G, either save up a little more or wait until 06s are down to $100K. Gearing, wheels, options, more power, issues worked out, etc.. Seems like the year to have if you ask me.

You can get any of the car mentioned. But the only one in the group of cars you mentioned that is exotic is the Lamborghini. It's the only car that won't be removed from Valet spots! LOL They'll move a Aston Martin, Porsche, Audi if a Lambo pulls up. Also the "G" is the absolute best sounding car of the group, just put a Jota Bulls Miura Corse Exhaust and you will be screaming like a F1 car. None of the other cars can even mimic a F1 sound.

I buy my cars for the position it holds in a valet spot as well.
