If I'm not mistaken, I think the major service on a 360 is about $4K which is done every 3 years. 355 should be cheaper (unless of course there are major things to be done).
That said, you'll like the Gallardo better. It's a lot more car than the 355 - better styling, V10 engine, AWD, and it's more modern.

The 355 is way more expensive because you have to take out the engine to do any kind of service work. Lots of labor hours.

Is it really true that the Gallardo's pricing is in free fall? 88K for a 20K mile 06 Gallardo?
What is the service cost and interval like? I drive my cars, and in two and a half years, I have put more than 24K miles on my GT2, so if it gets replaced with the Gallardo, similar miles will be driven.

I DD the car, so the lower lip is in pretty bad shape. I have a brand new one in the garage for the high speed runs or long trips. I discovered that a chewed up lower lip spoiler really makes the car unstable at high speed.

im jealous
a gallardo dd is prob still a year or two out for me as im trying to take advantage of the housing market. its great to see its not silly expensive to maintain them, makes owning more feasible.
at what speed did you discover this?

It is most obvious when you are trying to setup to enter sweepers.
But it was in my dream.

Are we looking at 355 type of 10 grand every 15K mile type of service cost, or more like the GT2 1 to 2 grand type of servcie cost every 15K miles?
I love the engine note on the Lambo's, and DD'ing it would be awesome.

The Gallardo is very low maintenance for an exotic. The only expensive item would be the clutch and that could cost $5-$7k in service which includes the clutch. Let me know if you want a nice one and I can help you. Fortunately I don't sell the cheap junk cars.
I like to use the term "you get what you pay for!" Last edited by EVS Motors Inc.; Jan 15, 2009 at 07:22 PM.

I still need to drive a 997 Turbo with PSM off and see if it's more interesting to drive than the 996 Turbo that I traded in.

997 Turbo PSM on or off will not give you the feeling of the 2.
I have a customer's heavily modified 3.3 turbo that we just did an engine overhaul to at the shop and am putting gentle break-in miles on and slowly starting to feed in the boost. There is nothing like a turbocharged RWD Porsche, absolutely nothing. Cherish what you got
