Wrecked SLR --- For Sale w PICTURES
#22
The damage on the side could not possibly compromise the structural rigidity of the whole car, Stoppie; but nice way of compromising the guy's sale anyway!
You sell cars bro, you know better

With that being said, i say, closer pic of the damage!
Truthfully, if i had the dough, I dont know man... I want an SLR bad.. so much presence!

Do you know anything about motorcycle helmets? Drop one and you've pretty much compromised the integrity of the entire shell. Carbon Fiber works the same way. Push it enough and you create small, microscopic fractures- which (shocker!) compromise the shell.
You want to sell a SLR the right way? Have it all documented and certified by a Mercedes Benz Master Mechanic and Specialty Body shop that's Certified to work on the SLR.
Post THAT with Pictures that the car just needs cosmetic touch up and the car will sell very quickly. The SLR is a fantastic car!! I'm just pointing out the right and wrong way to market such a car. Not trying to shoot the OP in the foot.
Cheers-

You're right, I do sell cars and I know this car intimately. This isn't a E550 that needs new sheet metal. It's a SLR McLaren made almost entirely of Carbon Fiber.

Stoppie is right in bringing this to light. Someone who can afford this car is, or should be interested in the integrity of this vehicle. And I'm sure that the seller will have no issue in providing the needed assurances.
Well done Stoppie.

This person is choosing a tact that will do nothing but land himself in a bad place...
