Choose: Vantage V12, Vantage S V8 auto
I am a new member and I drive an Audi RS5, 2011.
I love the car and I love this forum. Just reading posts for the past 2 years have been entertaining.
This is my first post. And since moving over to London(from Hong Kong) for work (3 months) ive just been bombarded with blurred images and intoxicating noise from Lambos, Astons, and the occassional R8's scorching past the narrow side streets near my office.
i am on a budget so most the below choices will be 2nd hand. Please help me decide.
I will drive them if not daily, then 4 times a week. I dont hv kids so practicality would not be a consideration.
The list:
1) 2010 Aston Martin Vantage V12 manual
2) 2011/12 Aston Martin Vantage S, V8, 7 speed auto
3) 2010/11 Audi r8 V10 Manual
4) 2011 Audi R8 , v8 spider, manual.
I am leaning towards the V12 aston. But for high mileage ones, 25k miles and above, any issues arise? Are these issues easily repairable? is the AMV8 better car for the money. (not a huge price difference if you get one thats newer)
Also comment on the r8's?
I'd love to hear feedback from the owners of the greatest collections of cars online.
Thanks,
Andrew

I have looked at the astons and ive seen the R8's before upclose and I was more impressed with the astons. R8 is mostly plastics and blah, the aston is a true work of art. The V12 is the best out there with the smaller size than the db9 it is a bit sportier. don't go auto on the aston, they aren't very good.

The R8 V10 manual is fantastic to drive, and even though I consider the Vantage as the poor mans aston (rather have a 911 instead), I really like the V12 Vantage. It is a brute and the V12 actually really suits the car, the torque is amazing and the 6speed is good too! Then again it definitely isn't a DBS on the looks and status part. I would choose between those two! Leave the automatics and V8s (Audi and Aston) out of the equation, they are underpowered and disappoint!
Welcome btw! What wheels are on the RS5? They look great! I used to have one! Any bigger pictures?
Best regards,
Yannick

V12 Vantage. It's a beast and only comes in a manual. Forget about the V8's on Audi's R8 and Astons Vantage, V10 or V12 are the way to go. I wouldn't pick the R8 V10 if I were you though since you've already got an RS5 and the AWD beast that is the GTR.
