Aston Martin reveals the 'new' DB9
#11
no-one paid full price for Virage
it has been available with 20k+ discount for months
All they are doing is what they should have done when Virage first launched - regardless of name, called it the DB9 successor rather than an additional car
the factory have taken 18 months to realise what everyone else did at launch, or more likely, realised within a few months but have had to wait a respectable period before rectifying their mistake
remember that other than exterior skirts/spoilers/etc, CCMs and a few very minor bits of trim, virage and db9 were identical
this car keeps the chassis, uses virage body panels but takes a bit of tech from the new vanquish for the engine, hence it having the 510 bhp from the outgoing DBS but 10% more torque (it was 420 lb/ft on DBS) using vanquish engine tech. Could probably easily have 30 more bhp but they need to keep it sensibly lower than vanquish to avoid comparisons
