Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster review
Can the refreshed Vantage cut it so late in the game?
EVO's Jethro Bovingdon gets behind the wheel of the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage roadster at the Bedford Autodrome with cameras a-rolling. A massive V-12 engine shoved into the short-wheel-based Vanatge roadster sounds to us like the perfect blend of top-down drama and theater. It may not be able to compete with its rivals in a "rational" sense, but as Jethro states, "it's mega, mega fun...this thing is nuts."
The music from the 5.9-liter, 510HP (517PS) engine al-fresco style must be magical in person, but the bad news for many is Aston will not be sending this little monster stateside, oh well one can dream.

I got to drive this 2 weeks ago at my dealer - a car has been doing the rounds for those who have orders/deposits/expressions of interest
It really is amazing. I must say though, I have never noticed any scuttle shake, whether on V12VR or my two V8 roadsters and those I have spoken to who have also driven V12VR concur so either this car is unusual in suffering from it or it's being somewhat OTT - IMO, Aston, whilst deservedly criticised for being behind in some areas of tech, do not get enough credit for the rigidity of vantage roadsters which is class leading
What was impressive compared to V12V coupe is the extra composure, better traction, equally able handling yet a less jittery ride over the bumps - basically loads of upside & no downside ! (over the coupe)
Cannot wait for mine to arrive..........
