The British car maker will not attend the 2012 Paris Auto show
According to a recent report in Car and Driver, Lotus will not be attending this year's Paris Motor Show, a rather drastic change from the surprise introduction of five concepts at the 2010 show. In a brash attempt to challenge the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche, former CEO Danny Bahar shocked the automotive press with the debut of these concept vehicles which left all very skeptical from the get go. We have to admit some of the designs did look very good.
If you have been following the Bahar-Lotus saga then this should come as no surprise to you. The future strategy is currently under review but production has commenced again, and they recently put on an impressive display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, showcasing historic and modern cars.
Lotus's latest offering, the Exige S, has received high praise from the like of Chris Harris, Steve Sutcliffe, and many other well respected automotive journalists, so we are keeping our fingers crossed a re-born Lotus emerges sooner then later.
