A decidedly outward move toward British cars....

I know how you feel. Having said that most British cars have the backing if not ownership of another company. i am on my second AM and second mini and all 4 cars have been very reliable and with the exception of gas inexpensive, at least compared to german cars. This is the first Rover but so far so good.

I don't take it as hate toward the Jag, everyone has their opinion and it 's interesting to read them. We don't really ever buy cars based on anyone elses opinion, we buy cars that interest us. Some we really like, some not so much. One that I was most disappointed with was the B7. So much lag, it reminded me of the old 930 turbos. That and the rediculous column shifter.......
This the best comment.... I love it!
Thanks everyone!

first of all congrats on your new car!
Just looked up your post history,..the E55,thePanny and the B7 were
all very special and perfectly beautiful!
Hats off for having such a great taste in cars!!
the DB9 is wonderful as well,..just the Jag,..well,the car by itself is cool and all,but simply not "on your level" imo.

No worries, I know the Jag isn't to everyone's taste. Personally, I never thought I'd own a Jag either...... Almost bought an XKR-S when I was looking at the DB9.
We are blessed in that we've gotten to experience many different automobiles over the years. I love the styling of the big cat and with the SC motor it's great fun to drive. Not to mention, the leather interior is beautiful. It's also very low key and not in your face like the Panny was. Frankly, I'm a little tired of the Germans, Porsche especially b/c EVERYTHING is an option!!! The Panny had $35k+ in options (not including the HREs) alone. That is absolutely insane AND it's exactly half of what we paid for this car.

while i agree with you about Options and Porsche. But what i don't understand is why would you sell the Panny to get this. You have already ponied up the 35k in option, so it's not like by selling it you are getting that money back. I do like the Jag, it's low key but to me it looks too long

Actually JaG moved from 20th to 2nd in being troube free car maker in a recent report, ahead of Porsche. I like the look of the car, but its a tad to long and I would look to young for it, like the S-class.
I read that it drives great with the engine and light weight chassis. Sounds like a great sedan that combines luxury and sportiness.
Congrats
