Jaguar officially unveils the XF Sportbrake

Jaguar officially unveils the XF Sportbrake

After several leaks and despite Jaguar's best efforts to keep it under wraps until Geneva, the British marque has lifted the lid on its new estate, the XF Sportbrake.

One of the best looking wagons around, the XF Sportbrake is a natural extension of the XF range, of which we're a fan.

Highlights include a huge 1675 litres of load-space (with the seats folded) and an extra two inches of rear headroom due to the higher roofline.

While the Sportbrake is all XF up front, it receives new rear air suspension which allows for self-levelling while carrying a load, to enable a dynamic drive - nothing is worth than a saggy back end.

Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamics System - which continuously monitors the suspension and can adjust damping rates accordingly up to 500 times a second - is optional.

The tailgate has a 'soft-close' feature as standard, while adding a powered tailgate is also possible.

Under the bonnet, the Sportbrake is powered by a choice of two diesel engines, the 2.2D four-cylinder and the 3.0D six-cylinder which comes with either 500Nm or 600Nm of torque.

The price will be incrementally more than the XF saloon on which it's based, and Jaguar will make further announcements about each market soon.

Give me an XF-R Sportbrake, please. This is the best looking wagon on the market, imo.

I'm sorry but did they forget the X-Type Estate fiasco that cost them about 4 billion in lost brand value and essentially made nearly half Jag dealers in Europe bankrupt because they only sold a handful of those?
