Aston vantage owners, what are your thoughts?

what are your experiences like owning a vantage. is it reliable? does it cost you troubles? how much is it to maintain it? and last of all. do you really enjoy it?

So it's this, a 997TT or a 991S?

991 > Vantage unless it's the S or V12 version imo.

Saw a v8 cabriolet at a nearby Aston dealership for 85 grand which Is in fact within the price range of a pre owned turbo, but yeah this could be a 3 legged run, I do hear about reliability issues with Aston do I wanna hear what couple of owners think

Of all those cars, I'd do a 997TT, esp. if it's a 2009 - Metzger engine, DFI telematics (BT, nav, iPod, etc.).

hm not sure if the roslyn dealership has a 2009 pre-owned, but there are some 2007-08 models. i'm guessing they are 997.1?

Yes - Turbos were first-gen 997 until 2010.

My friend I have been down this road.... the exact same road.....vantage is here and there from the other forums I've visited. If you have the cash get the turbo, vantage is sexy but interiors don't hold up well....sounds fast is slow....yada yada....

i know right? the vantage are going for such a bargain( at least to me) it's a bit unbelievable. even though it's an entry level aston with sound to match but not the speed. it is still a very beautiful car with a great heritage to back it up.

i do find the interior to be a bit lacking. must be what's left over of ford's division. the v8 certainly does bark but no go from what i heard, but since i live between nyc and long island, not sure how much speed i can really put down between the cameras and the traffics.

As far as reliability.....you are in the right league with porsche...I have heard nothing but bad things about the early vantages with the 4.2 V8... engine must be removed to do some of the maintenance....ask some of the guys on this forum about it, I'm sure they can give you first hand info...
