If you guys think this car is pointless, think about it this way.
You are a rich guy from Dubai. Everyone on the block has an Aston DBS. It comes time for you to buy an Aston Martin.

You don't want to buy a DBS because you want to stand out. You buy a Virage instead so you can have the newest car Aston makes for less than a DBS costs. People with enough money to buy a Veyron every month don't care whether a car makes sense or not, they just care if anyone else has it.

And after all, a big company like Aston shouldn't be concerned about pleasing fanboys like me that will likely never own one, they are concerned about pleasing the type of person that I described.

Think about it.

 

If you wanted to stand out in a neighbourhood of Aston Martins you wouldn't buy one.

You're basically saying it will sell cause it's new and exclusive. Well that will only last for 6 months then it's the same as the rest of the line up, which makes it a bit pointless. Much nicer than the DB9 though, the Rapide headlights really set the front off nicely

 

True, but with people who buy and sell their cars w/ in 6 months, it probably won't matter. I agree about the headlights, however, it would have been nice to see Aston make different headlights for it instead of just using the same ones as the Rapide.

Should have called it the DB9 Virage or just let it replace the DB9. This is niche hunting on a scale that makes BMW and Audi look sane. It looks very nice, but in my mind it's time for something new.

 

DB9>Virage>DBS

Oh sure, let's one-up the neighbors by buying a lesser car. That'll show em.

**** AM. Oh, how I miss the glorious days when AM went bankrupt twice a day, at least they were putting out amazing cars.

 

Yeah, it really doesn't deserve a new name. It's really only a update.

Regardless, they are still beautiful.

The A-M cars are all beautiful. However, it's time to move up to a better transmission and powertrain. There's nothing innovative or original in this car to justify its cost.
