Hi A47, Here is some info about the sport pack...

The Sport Pack enhances the existing Aston Martin engine from 4.3 liters to 4.7, a change that will probably not make much of a difference considering the fact that you already are developing enormous power.

With the upgrade to the engine, the power is increased by 20 hp to a maximum of 400, while torque is increased by 10 Nm to a maximum of 420 Nm, pushing the maximum speed to 177 mph and improving slightly on the 0-60 mph time.

The power upgrade is produced by a revised induction system that uses technology previously introduced on the DBS model. The system has a pair of switching airbox-valves that open at 5,000 rpm and allows additional air to enter the engine, while producing more power. Also the engine's control unit has been tempered with to optimize ignition timing and recognize higher octane fuels thus maximizing the car's performance.

The Sport Pack is reported to be extremely popular, almost half of the 4.3 liter V8 Vantage models having been upgraded. The customization options, however, don't stop here as there is also a package of dynamic enhancements that alter the car's handling. There are 5-spoke lightweight forged aluminum wheels and uprated Blistein springs available that contribute to a superior dynamic response and the precision handling of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

When you spec the Sport Pack it has nothing to do with the engine as 4.7 is standard.

Wheels and suspension are the changes, and it does make a big difference imo.

V8 Vantage Sports Pack

The V8 Vantage Sports Pack has been developed with the enthusiast in mind. Already boasting an outstanding chassis as its foundation, the Sports Pack sees further key components tuned to deliver an even more agile and focused driving experience.

A process-driven, comprehensive appraoch has been taken in re-engineering such components to ensure that all modifications made work not only to compliment each other but also to increase the precision of the overall driving experience. For example the combination of uprated springs and Bilstein aluminium dampers - with their improved dynamic response - works in perfect harmony with the new lightweight, five spoke alloy wheels, all resulting in an exceptionally responsive suspension.

Um, I think there is a lot of confusion and errors in this response. There is a sports pack which is a wheels and suspension upgrade that is an option on 4.7L cars and can be retro fit. The 4.3L engine is in 08 cars and earlier. There is a power pack available for the 4.3 which is manifold and programming upgrades. This is capable of a 20 HP gain (mostly in the programing). I believe that you can have the sports pack on the 4.3 cars as well. There is no way to change a 4.3L car to 4.7L. I guess you could bore the engine and create major surgery but it is certainly not something offered or advised by AM. Having owned a 4.3 and driven many 4.7 there is a significant difference in these cars. The 4.3 has more modification possibilities but the 4.7 is still superior. Then of course there is the 6L V12 which changes everything and is a 180K upgrade but can not be retro fit.
