Is the AM V8 Vantage a good DD?

Hey guys!

So comming from an Audi RS4 -07 I'm thinking about moving on to a Vantage, but since my other car is beeing driven by my girlfriend the Aston is going to be my DD. It's the manual version since I didn't fancy the Sportshift (if this now changes anything....)

So is it going to be a pain to drive everyday?

Axel

In terms of comfort and ease of driving I'd say yes. I've spent a few hours riding in a family friend's and its very enjoyable.

I don't know what the upkeep on a DD AM is though.

I wouldn't think it will be a pain to drive everyday, because it won't work everyday.

I have a few friends that daily drive their V8 Vantages, they haven't had any real significant problems at all. Do yourself a favour and make sure you get the 4.7 engine. The 4.3 was a slug!

I could easily drive my V12 Vantage everyday it's so comfortable, so it's definitely do-able from that perspective.

Pity they don't come with a motorplan (at least not here), it would make it more reassuring to drive on a daily basis.

Definitely YES!
I have a girl in my class, her dad has one and drives with it every day 30 kilometers.
Maybe the 997 S is better but the looks of the AMV8 makes it.
I'd go for it.

Thanks for all the input guys! I think this summer is going to be a test-period to see if i can live with it everyday! But then, what a car to live with! My problems could be worse!

Thanks for posting this. I've been considering a V8 Vantage for some time, but I keep ending up buying Porsches (and I had an RS4 in there, too!).

I have several clients that daily drive their Vantages, DB9s and DBS's.

They only go in for regular maintenance, obviously if you drive it daily the regular scheduled maintenance will become more frequent.

Appartisan is an unknown quantity at this point
I DD my 07 Vantage, the ride's a bit stiff, but it's definitely reliable.

Just did an airport run earlier, 2 suitcases stuffed into the boot. No rear views, but doable.
