Vanquish has more character, but also some olde-worlde Ford parts-bin stuff going on. If that doesn't bother you, then the Vanquish is the clear winner. Hell, Top Gear tested a Vanquish against a DBS and the Vanquish was faster...

I would go for the vanquish, that car is also more exclusive than a DB9.

The exhaust note of the Vanquish alone would make it the winner. There is a nice long tunnel by the lake here that I drive everytime I borrow my friends, it's remarkable.

The Vanquish is the perfect Aston IMO. Only bad thing is that the S only came with Paddles (I believe). If you're ok with that and the fact that it's the older car with no warranty left, then it's easily the better looking car.

I mean, just look at it... (taken by Chris G, borrowed from this Thread)

Having owned both (still have the vanq), I would say the DB9 is the smarter choice. Its far more reliable and it's possibly one of the most elegant cars produced for many years, both inside & out.
However, if you put in the time and $ into a Vanquish to modernize what Ford couldn't be bothered to do, you'll end up with one of the best looking and best sounding cars on the road.

As for "back seats", there are none. You can possibly fit small children in there but there is (almost) no legroom at all depending on the seating position of the driver & passenger.

thanks for the response thats my problem i feel the db9 would be more reliable but i love the damn vanquish so much i just do not want to run into any expensive problems considering both cars are out of warranty i guess both could get expensive to maintain so confused
