NO WAY!!! and I have loved the marque for so long but this would end that.

 

This is really an answer to the average MPG standards that are becoming law all over the world. AM can not front the bill to develop an original car to increase their average MPG. Other exotics like Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche all share the protection of a larger company to help. If they were still in the Ford family they wouldn't need to do this. The real answer is to make the connection with Mercedes in a way that would allow them share in the corporate MPG average.
