Nope, the V8 was always a 3.5 litre one. The four cylinders were either 2 or 2.2 litre.

What? They handled awesomely compared to anything of the day. The V8s are on par with most exotica today, too.

Yes gorgeous cars. That was when lotus built proper cars sorry I know the elise etc is a great car but not a mans car. As for the unreliability it's all in the name LOTUS Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious. Love the picture of the 16v twin cam engine not sure but think its basically the same unit as fitted to the Lotus sunbeam's and the old ford escorts.

I had 2 TT V8 cars.. Both were fantastic. I put 50K miles on my 2000, completely trouble free. I still love them and would get another..
