Citrix on a Macbook

Seriously considering picking up a MacBook Pro or Air as my travel computer. I'm leaning more towards the MBA at this point. Question: how seamless will running my firm's virtual desktop through Citrix be on the macbook?

I usually logon through internet explorer on a pc based computer and its seamless. But, when I was playing around with the computers at the apple store and tried to log on using safari, it redirected me to the citrix site to download extra software. I didnt download anything because I wasnt sure which program was the correct program. Anyone running citrix on a macbook that can provide some guidance?

Thanks!

I know my dad uses his macpro almost exclusively for Citrix. I did have to call his or department to get some setting information to make it work though.

I utilize Citrix for my work as well. Access from home can occasionally be buggy, but it works.

Do you run it through safari or an independent app?

I have the Citrix app installed on my Macbook Pro (retina), MBA and iMac (2008 model). Overall, no issues whatsoever. Has been pretty flawless.
