Spied: 2013 Audi RS4 Avant
The all-new little rocket from Audi hits the Nürburgring

Today our Teamspeed spies bring us the first video footage of the new Audi RS4 during some hot laps on the Nürburgring. With its large air intakes at the front, the wider fenders and the massive oval exhaust pipes this really stands out, even in the camouflage. This prototype also shows the lights and grille of the upcoming facelift that will come all over the A4- / S4-range.

We expect the power to come from the same 4.2-litre V8 delivering some 450 horsepower as found in the RS5, unless Audi also plays the down-sizing game and gives the RS4 a twin-turbo V6 delivering about the same amount of power.

Can't wait, but I guess it won't be as badass looking than the B7 model

 

When its out, it will probably be the greatest sports hatch in history. I'll take two!

I already have the green light to get another RS4 if it comes here. I suspect it won't because the RS5 is coming soon. That said, I need to bash my buddy at AoA in the head and tell him to bring the RS4 Avant this time. I think they'll sell like hotcakes...

For the life of me, I can't figure out why we get RS4 cabrios but not the Avant. Every enthusiast I know (esp. the ones like me who owned RS4s) prefers the Avant. I'll make a few inquiries...

 

Very frustrating that Audi does not bring any of their best products here to the States. No RS6 sedan or avant, no regular a6 avant, no rs4 avant, no allroads, nada.....stinks..I had a 2003 RS6 one of my favorite cars and I would get another Audi in a second if they would just bring some of their better models here, I would settle for even the s6 avant.
