Mercedes CLS 63 Shooting Brake teased at Goodwood
The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake has made a surprise public appearance at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed
Mercedes has teased visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a shock preview of the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake. The performance variant comes just hours after Mercedes pulled the wraps off the standard Shooting Brake.
The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, shown here wearing a thin disguise, was driven on Goodwood’s hillclimb by ex-DTM champion Bernd Schneider.
No official information has been announced, but it is expected the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will be powered by the same 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged motor as the saloon version. With a modest weight increase over the saloon, the Shooting Brake should achieve a 0-62mph time of around 4.5sec and a limited 155mph top speed.
The hot Shooting Brake appears to share aggressive AMG bodystyling with the saloon version, including deeper front and rear bumpers, and AMG alloy wheels.
As with the regular CLS 63, it will be built at Mercedes’ Sindelfingen plant near Stuttgart.

Very well executed. However, I am not sure why use the term "Shooting Brake" as it's just a way to make station wagon sound "hip". I find it they are just trying to be fancy for marketing purposes in the same way the SLS is now a "GT".
By that same logic I believe the z coupe, or even the FF should be called a "shooting brake". Nonetheless very nice car!
Cheers!
