School me on G55s .. 2002 and beyond

might end up swapping my SL55 for a G55 .. but i do not care for the supercharged 55s from 2006 upwards, so i am looking at 2002 and beyond

please let me know of specific details, stuff to look out for, exterior and interior differences, but more importantly, the mechanics (other than the supercharged 5.5 in the 2006+)

pictures are more than welcome
i am not clueless, just not very precise on the differences: aesthetic, interior, and performance

note: local market is crazy with the Gs
i am looking at both 500s and 55s
most of them have been updated to look like the 2010 and above (must be aftermarket parts available, right?)

newb question esp from a self-claimed benzo fan:
did the G500/G55 ever come with Airmatic or any kind of hydraulic suspension?!
point being this is something i do not want in the car

The G55 with a Naturally aspirated motor is actually rare.
They were only built for a year, 2003-2004 year only i believe.
Yes, you can update the body with newer body parts. LEDs taillights and xenon lights were the main difference on the outside. The inside is where there are a lot of visible differences throughout the years.

Best of all they did NOT come with Airmatic suspension, which is what i love about it.
Not sure if the new ones even do.

in an SL, sure for my intended purposes for the G, not really + not interested whatsoever in paying over what i deem as reasonable! definitely not writing it off, just not insisting on it
i will be more than happy with a 500, i know because i drove a couple!

personally not interested in the updated look vs the 'dated', but looking at those up for sale locally it seems the MAJORITY have already been updated .. not a bad thing to have xenons and leds imho even if the parts are not OEM!
as for the interior, do you know when exactly the screens became different?

any difference with the dashboards?

+1 on no airmatic, i realize it is a redundant question but i am interested to learn about the, if any, different set-ups that are available

thanks guys, but please let's discuss any differences i should know about for now! i did some reading and learned a few things so far.

elyas, haven't you learned yet that i just say i am going to swap this car for that or that watch for that and end up adding and keeping both?
greg i loveeeee the sl55 as well, way too much.. fantasized about owning one for 7yrs actually only car that would satisfy me if it went would be a 997tt i think
which is why i think i might keep the 55 if the G comes afterall. but in the end it will boil down to the monies

test drove today. g500 2002. original white ext, offwhite int (done at top local shop not factory as it wasnt even available back then from what i understand), all original parts, genuine 2010 xenons, tails, 2008 style amg wheels, wide fenders. loaded options
not a fan of the badging but that's for later
