Mercedes-Benz prices the SLS AMG Roadster at $196,100

Mercedes-Benz has announced today the retail MSRP for the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster. Starting at $196,100, before additional options, Mercedes-Benz feels the Roadster delivers "stratospheric levels of performance without comprise at an aggressive starting price."

We tend to agree as Dan Trent, one of contributing editors, raved about the SLS in his most recent review, which you can read here: https://teamspeed.com/forums/amg/646...ml#post1091383

"And if there's room in your life for a super hot two-seat roadster there are few boxes the SLS doesn't tick. For some the gullwing will always have that little extra something. But with so few compromises for losing the roof it's a tough call as to which makes the more compelling case. Darn it, we'll take one of each."

AMG needs to put this tranny in regular AMG's yesterday!

BMW M, Audi, and the CTSV can really use some competition in the U.S.

saw a brown one today at the dealership, not bad but I prefer it in lighter shades.

Bicolore is an unknown quantity at this point
The SLS coupes have already dropped massively from roughly $250k down to $170k, I wouldn't be surprised if they are under $140k in 12 months.

If there is one thing AMGs are unbeatable at ... its DEPRECIATION

the coupe starts at $189k. ur price on the used one is correct but on the lower side. u're off on the new at $250k. i haven't seen one optioned at $250k but it's possible if one picks every single option including the expensive paint. then he should understand option doesn't worth much in resale (check Porsche).

My SLS was $196k and it had B&O, alcantara steering wheel, and a few other options. They are now in the mid $170''s wholesale, and retail in the mid $180's or more, and that's one year later. Most cars would be much worse.

Exactly high sticker ones I have seen w ceramic and all packages are 220-225. I have to agree the depreciation on AMG's i one of the
worst I experienced
