So, the Mercedes SLS Roadster loses the gullwing doors. Does it also lose its unique selling point?
Not if that means being able to enjoy that 6.3-liter, 571hp V8 more easily. Much as we love the gullwing the SLS is a car that suits being a roadster just as well, Ride Control adjustable dampers among the new features introduced with this open-top AMG.
The roof itself can be operated at speeds up to 30mph and takes 12 seconds to extend/retract. That’s two seconds faster than the Ferrari 458 Spider’s!
0-62mph comes in 3.8seconds and you can enjoy the wind in your hair/face at 196mph.
