I have had a Matte Mercedes since 2008 and have had no real issues. It is actually quite easy to take care of with just regular washing.

Yes it will scratch and then there is nothing you can do but the clear is quite durable.

I have tracked mine quite a bit and I have minimal chips.

Overall I have about 14K miles on the car and have been very happy with the way it has held up.

The car still turns heads every time I drive it.

I have not had any stains but I always clean the car within 2 days of a long trip. I also do not let it sit in the sun if it is dirty.

My biggest worry is always water spots but so far it has not been a problem.

that's what u get with no clear coat. not surprised as pretty much is common sense. if u really want matt finish i'd just wrap the car with the new 3M matt finish film.

my next car will be black because I will wrap it many times...
sucks having a red/white/yellow car and wrapping the door jams and stuff.

it cost a lot more too.

they do make glossy metallic vinyls that look like paint.
good luck.

Common sense? The matte finish is actually the clear coat on a Mercedes. Trust me it does not look the same as a wrap.

LBMA5820,
common sense meaning people should know what finish they're getting before signing the paper. they shouldn't expect the same from normal paint job. i've seen the paint up close. it is very nice & different. but consider the attention & care it needs, i would give it a second thought. have u seen the new 3M satin guard? it's not a XYZ vinyl job u see on the web. at least it's an option for people that want satin finish but don't want to deal with pain later on. and u can go back to glossy paint when the matte hype is over.
