Here is the latest update:

Standard options on SA spec G55. Price went up $364,000US this is apparently because the car has to be converted to RHD as all G-wagens are originally LHD. At least that is with ALL options possible. No additional amount payable should I want the other options.

Just some stuff to take note of for our local spec.

Please take note of the following:-
• All G55 are produced as LHD units and converted to RHD at the AMG factory.
• Due to the conversion process, the build time is extended by an additional 6-8 weeks
• As this is a converted vehicle certain items will remain in the LHD configuration (see attached list)
• The final vehicle price is subject to exchange rates at the time of completion.
• Please ensure that you follow the manual sales process via your RSM.

List of LHD to RHD conversion issues picked up in the past:

Observation: The bonnet when opened, is supported only on one side, and tends to “hang” skew.
Factory response: This is standard on all G-Class models. No change possible.

Observation: One-touch opening of the windows. Windows are able to be opened with the "one-touch" method, but closing is not possible by the same method. All windows have to be closed manually.
Factory response : This is standard on all G-Class models.

Observation: Driver’s door comfort opening / closing function by means of the remote key was not available on the G55 AMG, as per other Mercedes-Benz passenger car models.
Factory response: The comfort locking unit did remain in the "old" driver's door as the high additional costs involved to replace this unit would have increased the price of the RHD version again. No change will be made.

Observation: Steering box was situated on the outside of the chassis frame, on the right front of the vehicle, as opposed to the Left-Hand-Drive vehicle’s steering box, which is situated on the inside of the chassis frame.
Factory response: According to our R&D experts there was no other technical solution for the location of the steering box. It is protected by a modified inner wheelhouse cover. There is no technical need for better protection

Please make sure that all prospective customers are made aware of these limitations / features, before they commit to signing an offer-to-purchase document. As is indicated above, we are not able to change, modify or replace any of these items, should a customer decide at a later date that it is not to their liking.
