I'm itching for a SLS!

For some other reason I'm itching to get a SLS! I have asked the dealer to send me more info, but apparently they are only getting that info in the next couple months.

What is everybody's general opinion about the car? I'm wondering if I shouldn't wait. Just now they bring out some special edition SLS with the 6litre V12 biturbo motor I'm not impressed by the fact that the entire MB range uses the same 63 engine. If you're paying that much, you'd expect they would make the heart more unique.

brabus has engineered a twinturbo kit for the V8 6.3 which sounds a good alternative from the heavy V12 TT, AMG should go this route.

Thanks Jiaim. I prefer to keep this one OEM. I don't care if the engine weighs ton in this car. I wouldn't buy it as a sportscar for turns. More as GT with brute strength! That would be fun

+ 1 and this brabus kit cost an arm 69900 but AMG should drop the V12 and work on a twinturbo V8 6.3 with 650 hp and high revs .

AMG is already started to move this way. If rumors are true expect lightweight 5.5-litre twin turbo engine with direct injection to appear early 2011.

I am in love with SLS myself. Great car, I am waiting hard for first test drives to appear.

Mike, SLS would be great addition to the V12 Vantage, you will be one of few able to compare British legend with German hi-tech.

Hi D55L, the SLS is definitely on the list (I just want to have the right engine, maybe it's worth my while to wait) - along with the MP4-12 and Carrera GT. Those are my next goals

I think once I have run out of things to look forward to, only then will I push for the Zonda. I feel too guilty spending the money on one awesome car, whereas I can have 3-4 great cars in it's place!

Maybe in the future a black series version, I like the car its nice but i am not sold on the rear, I'd go for a SL63 with the performance package as it looks all in all better.

mike... i hear you loud and clear... 3-4 great cars versus just one Zonda.. not an easy choice. It will obviously depend what the new Zonda is like.

the cars that you mention are also on my list at the moment.. especially the mp4-12.

The shared engine between the mercs is surprisingly disappointing. its a great engine, but the fact that you can have it in a c class devalues it considerably. The biggest engine in the smallest car is always the most attractive option.

all the best.

If you want to differentiate yourself, I am not sure if the parts from the c63 retrofit but MKB, Kleemann and Vath offer the most powerful tunning packages for the 6.2L V8 aka 63. power varies from 552-596hp I am not sure in detail but the ecu is quietly put in its lowest settings, N/A boltons can get you quiet a lot of power especially midrange and top end with headers.

As long as you wait a couple of years it would be much better, you can order the car to a much more exclusive spec.

Via AMG performance studio, carbon fiber side mirrors from what I know and other exterior parts, let say you want diamond stitching its possible.

There are new paints from Mercedes for the SLS their is matte grey i am not sure what its called but from the other MB line you can get Magno Grey "G55" colour matte grey, matte mystic white pearl "SL63 IWC" , Matte alanite grey "silverish/blue matte" and other colours ofcourse upon your request.
