iPhone discharging?

Eventually they do wear out after so many recharge cycles. Most people get several hundred full cycles, which is equivalent to several years of hard use.

Just got back from the Apple Store. As suspected, the hardware is at fault. No rhyme or reason. Battery is just fubar'd. Only option is to buy a new phone as mine is out of warranty.
$150 for a 4, $199 for a 16GB 4S.
Currently on month to month with AT&T. Guess it's a good reason to jump ship, go with Verizon and get a 4S.
Anyone want to chime in AT&T vs. Verizon?

Ok, I'm utterly baffled.
Decided I couldn't wait to get access to my 'main' computer, so I purchased iRip to transfer my iPod music to my laptop, sync'd everything and removed my old work Outlook account (which I couldn't do before moving my data over). Have had my phone off the charger for about an hour. In the last 2 days, it would have lost a least 5-10% charge, but it's held at 100%. WTF. I'll hold final judgement until tomorrow, but problem solved???
