att is lobbying for 4g to be put in the status bar when available. I guess its not technically "4G", but it has the same advertised speeds as most of the new 4g devices so I'm just making a generalization.
Heres some visualizations of the differences.
The processor was tested at 68% faster than the 4. Its basically an Ipad 2 chip that has been slightly de-tuned, and its confirmed to have 512MB of ram.
Download speeds comparison:

Got mine on order as well. They estimated the 21st for me as I was a little on the fence between this and the Google Samsung Nexus phone. Still waiting to see what becomes of the droid but I'm about 75% on keeping the 4S.

My bad. Was thinking it was Friday. Damn! Almost....
Looking to get one for my wife. Were both far away from upgrades with Verizon but they said we could open up a 3rd line for only $10 more per month. Sounds to good to be true?

It is somewhat too good to be true. In addition to the $10/month for that extra line, you would also need the minimum $30/month data plan that Verizon requires for smart phones. If you used that extra line just to get the phone and then activated an older (dumb) phone on that line instead, you could avoid the $30/month I suppose.
