I need to copy my iTunes off iPhone onto Mac Air that has no music on it

So simple even I can use it:
iRip 2 – iPod and iPhone music transfer software for Mac or PC – The Little App Factory

Then, rather than buy it I tried Simba's terminal and it worked but....only copied 50 songs!
I am wondering if the iRip app put some sorta limit in my system?
nothing's easy!

I used the free version for awhile, I don't remember how many transfers it gives you. I liked it so much I paid for it but I only use it to transfer songs I buy on my phone to my iTunes on my Mac. I've never done more than a few at a time.
edit* It has a 100 song limit on the trial version. The license would give you unlimited transfers for $20. Worth it, imo.

If you have a time machine backup of your old library, it'll all be there as well.

and started fresh but music's not copying..
The music is fine on the iPhone...
The Terminal commands all seem to work but nothing's happening..
Not all that familiar with Lion which doesn't make it any easier.

Try the following:
1) Mount iPod.
2) Delete existing "Music" folder on desktop.
3) Open Terminal (Apps -> Utilities)
4) mkdir ~/Desktop/Music
5) cd /Volumes/IPODNAME/iPod_Control/Music
6) cp -Rp * ~/Desktop/Music/
7) When cp completes (returns shell prompt), drag the Music folder on your desktop onto the iTunes icon.
