Get the 3G or you will hate it. I am keeping my 1st gen. No reason to get the new one without the USB or memory card access. That was stupid in my opinion. Plus, still no Flash Program capibiiity.

They should have upped the memory capacity to really seal the deal. As yet, I'm not sure this thing beats out the current iPad by much. If you already have an iPhone 4, then facetime on an iPad doesn't seem all that convincing.

Marc wasn't being sarcastic. There have been strong rumors suggesting that the iPad 2 is more like the "iPad 1.5". The next iPad is reportedly going to have twice the resolution, but at this time the screen prices and availability don't meet Apple's standards. The same reports suggest that Apple wants to align the iPad with the iPod refreshes that happen around September of each year...and that the iPad 3 could be fit into that timeframe for later this year.

I won't be upgrading either. I think they've made a few steps in the right direction but there is still a long way to go.

This has everything that I wanted the 1st gen iPad to have. I'm SOLD.
Now I'm just hoping that I can reserve one up from the Apple store for the 11th.

"iPad 1" owners: It seems like you guys don't feel this was a big enough advancement in the iPad ... Even with the new A5?? It seems like everyone is commenting on all the other new features. The A5 seems to be a huge new feature ...

Also, a jailbreak will inevitably be available and that should fix all the software annoyances and allow for tethering with an iPhone.
