Jailbreak/Unlock
So... before my old 3G and 3GS iPhones (yeah, I'm one of the suckers who replies "how high?" when Apple comes calling) totally lose their value, I'm going to flip them on eBay.
Any suggestions/thoughts on solid guides for unlocking + jailbreaking the older phones?

Unlocked generally has a higher value since it can go overseas. Some people don't want to mess with them. Jailbreaking/unlocking is extremely painless though. Lots of stuff here, depending on what firmware they are on, the process may slightly vary -

Eh, for whatever reason there's a clear premium paid for unlocked phones when you look through completed auctions. And when it comes to premiums, I've got no qualms with people who might pay me a bit extra for a few minutes of work. I just want to make sure I'm doing things properly without risk for... complications.

curious to see what you get for your 3G. I'm thinking of selling mine for a for the 4. I've got a crack on the back of the case but the screen is mint. Seems they go for over $120 easily

I unlocked/jailbroke my wife's 3G, put it on craigslist, and got $200 for it in less than 3 hours.
