New MacBook Pro

Battery life should all be relatively the same and is really based on what your usage it. I got mine for work last year (15in model, as well) and get roughly 5 hours battery life with wifi and Bluetooth running. If I VPN my battery life drops by a couple of hours. But playing Flash videos really drops the performance.
Couple of guys at work have the newer i7 models. The one was talking about his MB Pro yesterday and said that he gets roughly 5 to 6 hours of battery life, as well.
In other words, your mileage may vary.

Is there a difference in battery life? When I bought mine (base 15in model) last year, a 9-10hr battery life was being advertised. The ones this year all have 7hrs as max battery life.
Now thinking about selling mine through the Apple Recycling program (Thanks 65°V12) as I'm digging this Thunderbolt stuff and also want a Solid State drive.

Bought the new 13-inch MBP with a 250GB SSD. Wanted something slightly more portable but couldn't stomach the Macbook Air's old Core2Duo. Senseless really but we've all made sillier decisions for less.
Only feature I was excited about were the SB processors. THe new i5 processors are supposed to be as fast as last year's i7 processors.

I just picked up the new MBP 15 and love it so far! I had the OLD MBP before the unibody and man...it's a HUGE leap. I'm not really impressed with the battery life so far but I'm told that I need to properly condition the battery.

Fully drained the battery for the first time. 5 hours of movie playback on the 13.
