Do to disable remote from controlling MacBook?

Do to disable remote from controlling MacBook?

I just got Apple TV and when I use the remote to control it, it also is controlling my laptop..

Any way to disable this?

duct tape?

System preferences -> Security -> select "Disable remote control infrared receiver"

You can do that, however it will prevent any remote from talking to the machine.

Alternatively: System Prefs -> Security -> Click the "unpair" button.
