How to reinstall Mail?

The mail icon on my MacBook got deleted in error (and the trash emptied). I can't find the Mail program under finder applications anymore.
How can I retrieve it?
Thanks

It should be based on the reinstall disks that came with your computer. Plug them in, run off of them (or check inside the disk's normally), and there should be an option to reinstall applications.

Sorry it's a bit vague, I don't have my install disk with me, so I'm unable to give you exactly how to.

I reinstalled Mac OS and retrieved Mail that way.

Good to do a reinstall anyway to get rid of junk you've accumulated.

But possibly didn't have to. I'm sure Simba will chime in.

You don't have to reinstall the OS, though unless you like digging through the system packages and pulling out the mail app, an archive and reinstall is the simplest way to fix it.

Alternatively, if you're using time machine to back up your mac, you could have just gone to the last backup period and restored it.
