I think one could make a strong argument that Apple's demise will be a result of their business culture. Right now, the wind is at their back, and their totalitarian behavior is of little relevance. However, it's only so long until the other trees in the forest become a threat, so goes the economics adage. At that time, such behavior will have consequences. Human capital may prove to be elusive.

Or, we'll continue to see 400% yearly gains in share value.

we've seen it before a thousand times in tech - which seem to spawn similar types of "we're the best" cultures - msft, yahoo, ebay, and even now google is beginning to see they are not invincible.

i've been working on apple stuff lately - i will just say - it's not fun.
