Apple Gestapo: How Apple Hunts Down Leaks
#11
gets to the heart of the issue i suppose - a totalitarian state could work w/ the right people in charge. would you want to live/work there? even if you were making bank in stock options/grants?
but i think, as a company, it limits its growth w/ this "must control everything" approach. it arguably can't continue to scale. of course, there are $50B reasons why i'm wrong.

I think one could make a strong argument that Apple's demise will be a result of their business culture. Right now, the wind is at their back, and their totalitarian behavior is of little relevance. However, it's only so long until the other trees in the forest become a threat, so goes the economics adage.
i've been working on apple stuff lately - i will just say - it's not fun.
