It may be just me, but I found it easier to have one port and use the adapter for the need I have instead of having a lot of different video outputs on the computer. I got a MiniDisplayport-to-HDMI at home when I wanna watch something on the TV screen that's playing on my computer.

If you find it to be so overpriced and lack functions, you know what? You don't have to buy it
I know.. I used to use em religiously, since I could get a 30% discount through a friend who worked at apple. We had a falling out over the iPad... and words were spoken

Long story short, I since switched over not only for principle but on the fact that win7 is a pretty good OS.

I just wanted to hear if you guys believed the pricetag for a fully specked out mbp was worth it... considering you could get a nice laptop, running win7 that would spank the latest update.

No hard feelings, I understand the appeal of a mbp

I wouldn't mind a 30% discount I bought the 13" mbp this fall for my school work and the little photo editing I do once in a while. For that it works great and had a price tag matching it. As a student I get 10% so it's always something.

In the higher price Apple has I also assume that the computer will last longer that other computers and hold their resale value better. For example, I bought the last of the PowerPC Macs (Powerbook G4 15") when it came out for $3000 in Sweden and sold it 4 years later for $800. Considering how much computers depreciate I was very happy with that number.

If you look at the other Macbooks base prices they aren't that astronomic. I'm not sure you would need to spec them up that much if you aren't a serious gamer or work a lot with editing of movies/photos:

No hard feelings either, I just wanted to straighten out some facts

Thoughts on whether a SSD might ship standard by the fall update? Also how difficult is it to change the HDD on a unibody MBP?

Its a solid computer, but cmon... you guys gotta look at the updates and laugh a little at how high they are pricing these notebooks. You get dribbles of new tech so that you are always buying the latest edition.
You obviously don't know what the **** you're talking about.
