1st gen is a huge disappointment for me and i am not trying to convince anyone, just ranting and sharing my dismay.

And that's fine, it was just a feature I personally was hoping for given the rumor mill in the weeks leading up to the launch.

I think I'll keep my Air for travel. My kindle is just fine for reading books, etc. Quick question: do you have to be online to read the articles on the newspaper? The kindle actually downloads the paper to the device so that you can read the entire newspaper without being connected to wifi.
Also, AT&T blows it for me.

you're reading the articles on the newspapers website - so yes, you need to be online.

The hits keep on coming... seriously, no freakin multitasking?
I can't listen to pandora, have aim running in the background, while I experience the GREATEST way to surf the web? HANDS DOWN
Definitely will be passing on this.

I'm sure it will sell like hotcakes. Apple knows exactly who this giant Ipod touch was made for... they know they are gonna sell a ton.
Really, I do think apple had to do much to release this. They didn't invent anything, except for maybe the chip running the machine. To their credit, I've been reading its snappy as well. But what good is having a kickass proc, when all you can do is run one app? But other than the chip, they really didn't do anything but go into auto-cad and scale up the ipod touch about 3x, and add the macbook pro unibody finish to the back of it.
See how easy it is

So besides being bigger, what advantage does this thing have over, lets say, an ipod touch?
I won't compare it to Iphone, because that thing can make a phone call, which already blows it out of the water...
