This is selected in the preferences menu, but whenever the computer has been sleeping for a while, the computer "forgets" that its checked, and doesn't let me do it until i go back in, unselect the option, then select it again.

Any ideas?

Make sure you're closing System Prefs before sleeping the machine, and it wouldn't hurt to log out/in. Failing that, try repairing your disk permissions. No reason the setting shouldn't stick unless something is preventing it.

It hasnt happened again so far, so hopefully thats the end of it.
