Way to get Music off New Gen Ipod Nano to CPU's Hard drive?

You either need to enable disk mode via iTunes, or your iPod has an incompatible format. E.g. Mac HFS format on a Doze box.

i used to connect it through my old laptop which had Windows XP,

Connect the iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Click on the iPod in question in the "Devices" column. Click the summary tab on the right. Click "manually manage music" and "enable disk use". The iPod will then update and mount.
If you have a windows formatted iPod, it should work fine on a Mac. The reverse is not true. Worst case, backup your music on a windows box, and then restore (reformat) the iPod on your Mac.

thanks so much simba.
im learning a lot about mac thanks to mac gurus like you.
btw
it turned out that 2nd gen touch cannot be used as the disk itself other than the ipod.
so i had to use some app named senuti to take music off to my hdd.
