Sprint is advertising a 4G network as "coming soon". I dunno the details.

Sprint may be talking about upgrading their 4G network but it won't be commercially available for some time (12 months)
There's some pretty firm speculation that iTunes will be refreshed on 1 June and there's a very good chance that there will be a new iPhone announced at WWDC on 8 June with stock to follow within a couple of weeks.

Sprint will end up going bankrupt or being bought before their 4g network becomes commercially available on a network wide base. Every other major carrier has adopted the same 4g standard (LTE), while Sprint still thinks it can go about using its own. The company is bleeding money and customers, and the Nextel acquisition was an absolute disaster.
The new iPhone will mostly be a software upgrade. Minor hardware updates (camera, compass, etc) are expected. I believe the current 3g iPhone is already capable of using AT&Ts upgraded 7.2mb/s network (although I may be wrong).
