Problem: Installed MS Office Mac 2008

After I installed Office, the fonts on webpages in Safari are now screwed up. Any idea WTF happened?

You introduced Microsoft into your Apple. Ouch.

I still can't get rid of the stupid demo versions of MS Office off of my mac. I click to uninstall them but it never does.

Sorry I wasn't of any help!

Try AppCleaner. Here's a link:

AppCleaner

I've got the Office 2008 disk lying on my desk right now, I guess I'll just let it stay there for a little longer.

Your problem is everything MS makes is a POS. I started using a PC a month ago and I am going nuts. The new Office versions 07/08 suck. Nothing works. My wireless printer worked, then stopped working, now won't scan.

The only worse company is Dell. I will never in my life give them $1 in business again.

Go into preferences in Safari and you should be able to re-adjust your default font settings. Hope that helps.

Office '08 likes to replace system fonts with their own, naturally without asking you before doing so.

Uninstall Office, reboot the machine, reinstall via the custom method and unselect the Office Fonts option.

Pardon my French, but why in the **** would Microsoft think I wanted my system fonts replaced because I installed Office?

You're assuming Microsoft a) Thinks, b) Cares about you the customer in any way, shape or form.

get rid of Office 2008 and install Office 2004. It's much better.

Speaking of office, anyone know of any viruses or spyware that take advantage of Office's scripting capabilities? I unfortunately w/out really thinking about it installed Office on my Mac instead of creating a Virtual Box and installing it there.
