Hmmm...I installed the educational version of Office 2008, and it didn't replace any system fonts...

Alin is your 2008 EDU copy the full blown Pro version (minus the license restrictions)?

No. Entourage doesn't have Exchange support. Excel is also somewhat crippled without VB or the analysis toolpack...although I'm not sure it's in the full version of Office 2008.

I believe that only the Pro version has Office Fonts, so doing an "easy" install of that will cause the issues.

That said, it's not a bad idea for everyone running Office '08 to verify none of their fonts are borked.

Open Applications -> Font Book, select all your installed fonts (click the first, hold shift, scroll down, click the last), then select File -> Validate Fonts. Any font issues will show up, and you can remove them as necessary.

Note that you do NOT want to remove system fonts. If Office has borked them, uninstall Office before validating.
